The Athletics Collection is comprised of sports media guides, box scores, press releases, departmental forms and documents, internal communication, trophies, awards, jerseys, uniforms, photos, photo negatives, files and other materials about Clayton State athletics programs, student athletes, and coaches. Covered topics include sports promotion, program schedules, sports program statistics, sport program scores, sports artifacts, and general sports program information in a given represented year.

Biographical / Historical

The 1991-92 marked the inaugural season for the Clayton State College Women's Basketball Team. The team played their season opener exhibition game on November 18th against the Soviet National team as a doubleheader. During this season the Lady Lakers led District 25 in team scoring defense (62.3 ppg) and team defensive field goal percentage (.397%)

The Women's Basketball Team claimed Clayton State's first NCAA Division II Championship in the entire athletics program's history with a win of 69-50 over Michigan Tech on March 25, 2011, in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Lady Lakers Basketball Team has added to the championship tradition of Clayton State Athletics by delivering 17 championships, including the only NCAA Division II title in the history of the Southeast Region.
