Beginning in October 1974 with the first issue, the Bent Tree was published bi-monthly, except for some months it was issued once per month. There are missing issues, including several large gaps when the paper paused publishing. Physical archived editions of the Bent Tree Newspaper are housed in the Archives holdings.

The Bent Tree Newspaper is a student-run publication, whose goal is to entertain, educate and inform the campus, while also providing an opportunity for students to develop and enhance their journalistic skills. Established in 1974 with the first published issue on October 9th …The Bent Tree strives to promote balanced reporting, while offering a platform for students to share their opinions and concerns with the entire student body. In 2014 the newspaper begin to publish online editions.
