Scope and Contents
The Cygnet is A Journal of Arts and Literature for Clayton State University. It is published by the School of Arts and Sciences. Cygnet’s mission is to encourage creative writing and art by providing a forum for artists and writers to display their works. The opinions and aesthetics expressed in this publication are those of individual writers and artists; they do not necessarily reflect those of Clayton State University’s administration, faculty, staff, or student body.

Biographical or Historical Information
The Cygnet continues the tradition of publishing literary and art creations that was started by The Clay Tablet in the 1970s. On April 11th, 2005 the Cygnet was published as the campuses literary arts magazine introduced at the Arts and Sciences Departnent's "Faculty /Staff Poetry Night". Each volume contains poetry, drama, prose, photography, and various forms of art. Contributions come from the students, the faculty, and staff of Clayton. The publication accepts ficition, poetry, creative nonfiction, sequential, and art submissions form Clayton State University students each year.
